What to Expect from Your Residential Appraisal

If you’re new to the appraisal process, you may be wondering what to expect. When you work with our team, we will be sure to communicate with you about the ins and outs while also handling all the details on your behalf. First we’ll generally receive an order from the lender involved in the transaction. Then we set an appointment to appraise the property, beginning with measurements of the exterior. 

We’ll take photos and measurements of the interior as well, measuring the second floor, attic, and basement when applicable, and verify square footage. We’ll also ensure the windows are inspected, and that they open and close properly, specifically in the case of VA appraisals. Of course, our team is always happy to answer any questions along the way, and communicate openly to ensure all involved parties are satisfied throughout the appraisal process.
